How to cultivate green algae

How to cultivate green algae

1. Change the water

When changing the water, you should do it once a week. You can use tap water, but the chlorine in it must evaporate first. In terms of water temperature, it is best to be below 25 degrees Celsius, because the lower the temperature, the more helpful it is for its growth. During the maintenance process, be sure not to expose it to direct sunlight and be sure to take good care of it. If some impurities come out of its stomach and float on the water surface, causing the water to become very dirty, you can change the water at this time.

2. Environment

If it is round in shape and very emerald green in color, it is very healthy. If the color is dull, yellow, or even falling apart, it means that it is not being cared for properly and its life is coming to an end. When cleaning it, you can gently press its belly to let it release the dirty water in its body so that it can absorb clean new water.

3. Temperature

If the temperature is relatively high, it is recommended to put it in the refrigerator, or put some ice in the water where it lives, so that it can grow in the environment it likes, and it can thrive happily. Don't keep it with fish or shrimp, otherwise it will be attacked by them.

4. Fertilizer

It is relatively easy to keep and can adapt to many types of water and a variety of temperature ranges. It does not require a lot of fertilizer, and there is no need to add CO2. It can grow smoothly just by placing it in the tank. It grows relatively slowly, but if you add some fertilizer and CO2 to the tank regularly, it will grow faster and be healthier.

5. Notes

If it is grown in a water tank, it can be planted on the surface of a non-moving object. If you buy green algae on the market, it is usually cultivated on a spherical object to make it look better. If you want it to continue to maintain this shape, you need to turn it for a long time, or knead it into a ball when changing the water, so that it can be more ornamental.
