How to plant Dendrobium nobile

How to plant Dendrobium nobile

1. Planting method

1. Division

This method is usually carried out when repotting it in spring. After taking it out of the pot, gently divide its seedlings into several parts. Be careful not to damage its roots and leaves. Choose plants that grow more lushly for division. Then you can plant it in a pot with a diameter of 15 cm. You can plant three to four plants in one pot to achieve better shape and better flower growth.

2. Cuttings

This method requires those pseudobulbs that have no flowers but are very thick. Cut them from the roots and then divide them into two or three sections. Insert them directly into the moss, or wrap their bottom ends and keep them moist. Place them in an area with a temperature of about 18 to 22 degrees. Roots will grow after thirty to forty days. When the roots grow to about three to five centimeters, you can move them into a pot.

3. Organizational cultivation

This method is more professional. It uses the tip of its stems and leaves as the main body and places it on a special culture medium. Rootless seedlings will grow out. Then put it in a culture liquid containing indolebutyric acid to help it grow roots. Finally, it will become a small plant with complete roots, stems and leaves.

2. Precautions

environment

Choose a semi-shaded and semi-sunny area for it, and the humidity in the air should be above 80%. If it is a severe winter, create an environment above zero degrees for it.

land

Choose a place with small stones, preferably with moss growing on it. There should be a distance of thirty centimeters between each plant and the soil should be five centimeters deep. Clean up the surrounding weeds and garbage to increase light transmittance.

plant

It should be planted in March or April in spring or August or September in autumn. In fact, spring is better than autumn. You can put it in the cracks under a cool stone, or cut some holes in the depressions of branches, plant the Dendrobium in it, and then fix it with soil. To prevent it from being blown away by the wind or washed away by rain, you can tie it up with a rope.
