What fertilizer to use for lucky bamboo

What fertilizer to use for lucky bamboo

1. Does it have a high demand for fertilizer?

Relatively speaking, the amount required is quite large. If no fertilizer is used for a long time and the plant is allowed to grow on its own, its leaves will easily turn yellow and the plant will become thin overall. However, we need to discuss two situations. Generally speaking, plants grown in soil are less abundant and are grown less frequently than those grown in water.

2. What fertilizer to use for soil culture

(1) First of all, after the roots have just taken shape, some compound fertilizers need to be used. Doing this will help the plant grow stronger and its leaves will be greener.

(2) After that, it is necessary to switch to normal maintenance. The type of fertilizer is still compound fertilizer. However, the frequency will be very low, generally only needed in spring and autumn, once per season.

3. What fertilizer to use for water culture

(1) It is easy to understand that it is not suitable to apply chemical fertilizers to plants grown using this method. Generally speaking, we choose liquid fertilizers, or a few drops of alcohol, such as brandy. First, after the roots have grown, add a few drops. As for the subsequent maintenance, the frequency will be relatively higher than that of soil maintenance, and it is needed about once every two or three weeks.

(2) Alternatively, this can be combined with water changes. About every two weeks, I change the water. Then, you can add some (KH2SO4) solution to the newly replaced water. Doing so is more conducive to normal nutrient absorption.

4. Notes

Regardless of which of the above methods is used, the concentration should not be too high and the amount should not be too large. Otherwise, it may grow too tall or burn the roots.
