How to care for Clivia after repotting

How to care for Clivia after repotting

1. Frequency of repotting

The number of times you need to repot should be determined based on how long the plant has been grown. If it is a young seedling, it usually needs to be replaced more often, once or twice a year. If it is an adult, the frequency can be less, once every one to two years will be enough.

2. Maintenance after repotting

(1) Watering: Some people would suggest not to water the plant immediately after repotting, but to allow the plant to adapt. In fact, this is not very scientific. After changing the pot, you need to water it thoroughly. This is the most scientific method. And, not just once, but three times. That is to say, water it thoroughly every day for three consecutive days. This is done to prevent foul air from damaging the roots. After three days, normal management can be resumed. Because of its fleshy roots, water must never accumulate. You can observe the condition of the soil and wait until the soil is dry or semi-dry before watering.

(2) Light: Right after the replacement, the plant needs to be placed in the shade. This is done to reduce the evaporation of water and allow it to slowly recover, which is the so-called "serving the basin". After about ten days, you can slowly increase the light to promote the healthy growth of the plant.

(3) Temperature: This needs to be kept within the appropriate range at all times. However, day and night are different. During the day, it is best to keep the temperature between 15 and 20 degrees; at night, it is best to adjust the temperature between 10 and 15 degrees. Temperature has a great impact on the recovery of plants and their entry into normal growth state, and requires careful management.
