1. Choose the seedThe seeds of this plant are relatively difficult to obtain because its young shoots are edible and are often picked off and eaten by people, so it cannot bear fruit normally and the seeds are relatively expensive. If you want to use its seeds to plant, you must choose new seeds. The fruits should be plump and red and yellow in color, so that they are fresh. 2. Heat preservation and germination1. Soak the seeds in 40-degree hot water for 5 minutes, stirring them constantly during this period, and then soak them in water at about 20 degrees for a day to allow the seeds to absorb enough water. 2. Wash the plate first, then put a piece of wet cotton gauze in it, preferably white, and put the soaked seeds into the plate, putting about 1000 grams of seeds in each plate. Then place another piece of cotton gauze over the seeds and cover with a plate. 3. Keep the temperature at around 20 degrees, clean the seeds once a day, turn them over two or three times, spray the plate with water to keep them moist, and keep the seeds in a suitable growth environment. 4. After three or four days, most of the seeds will grow sprouts about 2 mm in size, and then they can be planted. Be careful not to let the seed sprouts be too long, otherwise they will be easily damaged when planting. 3. Seeding management1. Choose a field with relatively flat terrain, good sunlight and good soil drainage, and fertilize and loosen the soil. 2. Then sprinkle the seeds evenly into the soil, leaving 30 cm between each space, and cover the seeds with two centimeters of soil. 3. The seedlings will grow in about a week. Before the seedlings grow, you must control the water content, otherwise the soil will become hardened and affect the small seedlings. 4. When the seedlings have grown about five leaflets, you can start transplanting them. Water the plants before transplanting them, and there should be a distance of twenty centimeters between each seedling. 5. When the tree is 50 centimeters tall, spray it with paclobutrazol once every half a month, for a total of two or three times. This can prevent it from growing wildly and help transport nutrients to where they are needed. You can also pinch it to make it grow more branches. |
