How to fertilize agave

How to fertilize agave

1. The plant's demand for fertilizer

As we have said above, it does not require much fertilizer. In fact, it is a relatively adaptable plant that can grow even in relatively poor soils. However, if there is enough fertilizer, it will naturally grow more vigorously. Therefore, in the long run, scientific fertilization is still beneficial.

2. Principles to be followed

The first is the question of the amount of fertilizer to be applied, and we already know its needs. Therefore, it is easy to understand that the amount of fertilizer should not be too much. Then, the number of times you apply it should not be too many. Another issue is its concentration. For this kind of plant, the concentration cannot be too high, otherwise, it will cause fertilizer damage. This will not only fail to promote its growth, but will harm the plants.

3. Specific methods

(1) The first is its growing season, which starts from April and May. During this period, the frequency is relatively high, controlled at once a month. As for the specific type of flower fertilizer, there are no special requirements. Decomposed liquid fertilizer or compound fertilizer are both acceptable. Just remember one thing, don't make the concentration too high.

(2) Then there is the period from late autumn to winter. Generally speaking, no fertilizer is needed during this period. We all know that it is in a dormant period during this period, so its growth is almost stagnant. Then, there is no need for fertilizer. If it is applied at this time, it will be disadvantageous to it.

4. Notes

The first thing to focus on is the nutritional elements. Generally speaking, the ratio of nitrogen fertilizer, phosphorus fertilizer and potassium fertilizer is 1.5:1.5:1. Not too much nitrogen fertilizer.
