How to divide lily of the valley

How to divide lily of the valley

1. Time

The timing of this operation depends mainly on the temperature. If the temperature is too high or too low, it may affect the survival rate, so we generally choose to perform this operation in spring or autumn, and November is the best, because not only is the temperature very suitable at this time, but it is also cooler than spring, which is more suitable for this plant.

2. Environment

In order to improve the survival rate, we can provide it with an environment suitable for its growth.

First of all, the flower soil must be fertile, so that more nutrients can be supplied and the new shoots can grow more healthily.

Speaking of water, you must not let the flower soil dry out. Be sure to water it in time to ensure that the flower soil is slightly moist.

Finally, let’s talk about sunlight. New seedlings are afraid of strong light. Don’t expose them directly to the sun at the beginning. After they grow to a certain stage, they can see the light normally.

3. Methods

First we need to dig its roots out of the ground and then prune them. First use scissors to cut off those roots that have been rotten, leaving behind relatively strong roots with terminal buds. Be careful when cutting, because long-term growth may cause its root system to become complicated and tangled. If you are not careful, you may accidentally damage the terminal buds.

The cut roots are likely to be infected at the cut. In order to avoid problems, we can apply some medicine on the cut to ensure its normal growth.

After processing, you need to plant the roots and terminal buds together into the flower soil we prepared, then cover them with a layer of soil, bury the roots and terminal buds together, and then gently shake the pot to make the flowers and soil more tightly combined.

Then water it, make sure to water it enough, and finally put it in a cool and ventilated place for maintenance, and it will grow out soon.
