Cultivation methods and precautions of summer pansy

How to cultivate summer pansy

Light and temperature

Summer pansy is a light-loving plant and requires sufficient light during its growth. Plant the summer pansy in a sunny place so that it will bloom more beautifully. However, when the sun is strong in summer, you should also pay attention to shade to keep the leaves green. But it cannot be too shaded, otherwise it will grow too tall.

Summer pansy likes high temperature environment and can withstand high temperature but not cold. In winter, when the temperature is below 12 degrees, it should be placed indoors for maintenance. The overwintering temperature should be kept above 15 degrees to avoid frost, so as not to cause the death of the summer pansy plant.

soil

Summer pansy likes well-drained soil and requires the soil to be fertile and moist.

Water and fertilizer management

Summer violets like a humid environment and need to be watered frequently during the growing season, but not too much water. Just keep the soil in the pot moist. If the soil in the pot is completely dry, you can water it thoroughly. When watering in summer, avoid the high temperature period at noon, keep the soil moist, and spray water frequently to increase the air humidity. When watering in winter, you should also follow the principle of watering thoroughly when the soil is dry.

Organic fertilizer needs to be applied as base fertilizer before cultivating summer violet. However, summer pansy does not require much fertilizer, and it only needs 2 to 3 applications of chemical fertilizer or organic fertilizer during the growing period. As long as the summer pansy has sufficient nutrients, it can grow vigorously and bloom beautifully.

Precautions for breeding of summer pansy

Reproduction method

There are two main methods of propagation of summer pansy: sowing propagation and cutting propagation.

Other considerations

The summer pansy should be topped frequently throughout its growth process. Pinching can promote more branches and more flowering.

In the daily management of summer pansy, attention should be paid to the prevention and control of diseases and pests, and the growth conditions of summer pansy should be observed frequently so as to detect diseases and pests in time and treat them early.
