1. Pruning purposeFirst of all, it is necessary to be clear about the purpose of pruning. If it is for aesthetics, you only need to determine the shape and then prune according to the plan. If it is to extend the life of the plant, you need to cut off the dead branches and unhealthy leaves. If it is to ensure the quality of flowering, there is another way of pruning, so how to prune is closely related to its purpose. 2. Pruning tipsYou can cut the flower branches according to the required length. The cut of the flower branches should not be too long from the next stem node. In order to allow it to better absorb water, it should be kept at about one centimeter. If the incision is split, don't worry. The larger the wound area, the more beneficial it will be in absorbing moisture. Generally, pruning at an angle is better than cutting flatly. Three or four small buds should be left at the base of the pruned flower branch, otherwise it will be difficult to grow. The frequency of pruning can be determined according to the purpose. Be careful not to prune the branches on rainy days. It is best to choose the morning or evening to avoid the scorching sun at noon. In order to ensure that the bulbs are full, the lilies should be cut off at the roots after flowering, because too many nutrients have been consumed during flowering. If you want to continue growing them next year, you must cut them off and add fertilizer. 3. Care after pruningAfter pruning, place it in clean, pollution-free water. There should not be too much water in the bottle, just half or 1/3 of the container volume. Before using, place the tap water in the sun for two days to wait until the chlorine in the water evaporates before using it, otherwise it will damage it. After pruning, it needs to be placed in a place with good light and air humidity of about 70%, and the ambient temperature should be controlled between 15 and 25 degrees Celsius to give it the most suitable conditions for growth. |
