How to water the fragrant lily

How to water the fragrant lily

1. Habits and characteristics

It likes a relatively dry environment, which means we don’t need to water it too much. One thing to note is that it is particularly afraid of waterlogging. If the soil in the pot is too wet, it may cause the bulb to rot and even lead to the death of the entire plant. However, it cannot always be dry. It still needs water at certain times and cannot be generalized.

2. Principles to be followed

In a nutshell, it is "better dry than wet". In other words, it is better to be a little dry than too wet. A little dryness will not cause much harm to the plant, but too much moisture is likely to cause harm. Normally, we can judge whether to water by observing the state of the soil. If you notice that the soil in the pot has become dry, water it some; if it is not yet dry, you can stop watering it for the time being.

3. Specific methods

(1) During its active growth stage and when it blooms, it requires more water. Therefore, at this time, you should flexibly adjust the water content and water frequently and appropriately.

(2) In addition, when the weather is relatively dry, you should water the plants more appropriately, just like the above treatment. In addition to watering, you can also sprinkle some water around the plants to adjust the humidity of the air.

(3) Towards the end of autumn and into winter, the temperature is relatively low. At this time, its growth rate is slow, so it does not need a lot of water.

4. Notes

(1) After watering, it is best to keep ventilation. Doing so can effectively avoid the occurrence of gray mold.

(2) The timing of watering is also important. It's best to go in the early morning, just after the sun comes out. Especially when it is cold, you must not water it at night, otherwise it will easily get frozen.
