How to propagate Emerald Philodendron

How to propagate Emerald Philodendron

1. Method

The most common way of propagating this plant is by cuttings.

2. Time

From April to August each year, the climatic conditions are more suitable for the growth of seedlings.

3. Environment

The temperature should be maintained at around 25 degrees, and the air should have a certain degree of humidity, not too dry. At the same time, prepare moist sand in advance.

4. Methods

Select the 3rd to 4th nodes of the rhizome, remove all the leaves below, and then insert it directly into the sand. It will grow roots in about 15 to 20 days, and then you can transplant or plant it.

5. Notes

① Before it takes root, do not expose it to the sun for the time being, but place it in a bright place.

② During this period, the soil and air must be kept moist. The speed of rooting is also related to the temperature. If the environment and temperature at night cannot be controlled, you can wrap it with a thin layer of plastic, open it during the day to let it breathe and spray water to keep it moist.

③ When transplanting or planting, be sure to choose soil with good drainage, good air permeability and sufficient nutrients. The flower pots should also be selected with good air permeability, especially for novice flower growers.

④ When planting, about 3 to 5 plants can be placed in each pot. A cylinder can be placed in the middle to allow it to climb and grow around the cylinder.

⑤ Take good care of it before it adapts to the new environment, and then take care of it according to general methods after it adapts.
