How to root the newly bought lucky bamboo

1. Growth habits

If you want to help it take root, the first thing you need to understand is its growth habits. Each plant has optimal conditions suitable for its own growth. Only by mastering its habits can you create an environment for it to take root.

Lucky bamboo prefers an environment with high humidity and temperature. It grows better in dim light, especially in semi-shade. It is very resistant to waterlogging and cold, and is suitable for growing in sandy soil with good drainage.

2. Tips for rooting this plant

In fact, it is not difficult to make it take root and survive. At present, growing it in water will greatly increase the survival rate compared to soil cultivation. In addition, various external factors will also have an impact.

(1) Light: It is not very demanding on light. You can try to create a semi-shaded or dimly lit environment, especially from April to September when the light is stronger. Avoid direct sunlight. Mild light will help the plant take root.

(2) Temperature: It likes a high temperature environment, but the temperature can be controlled within the range of 20 to 28 degrees. The wintering temperature should not be lower than ten degrees Celsius.

(3) Water: Water is a prerequisite for the success of the operation and will directly affect the development of roots. If the quality of water cannot be guaranteed, even if the roots are successfully grown, they will lead to rot. The water for soaking lucky bamboo is generally overnight tap water or boiled water. After the roots have grown, you can add appropriate amount of nutrient solution, but not too much.

(4) Fertilizer: The demand for fertilizer is not high. Too much fertilizer may "burn" the roots or cause them to grow too fast. Therefore, only a small amount of compound fertilizer is needed after rooting. It is not good not to apply fertilizer for a long time. Lack of nutrition will not only affect the roots, but also cause the leaves to turn yellow.
