How to plant wild apricot seeds

How to plant wild apricot seeds

1. Obtaining seeds

From June to July every year, it is the time for it to bear fruit. At this time, the whole plant will be full of countless fruits, one bunch after another, which is very attractive. Then when its fruit is fully ripe, we can pick it, take out the seeds inside, wash it and dry it slightly, and then we can wait for sowing. If you are not in a hurry to plant it, you can store it in time and take it out when you want to sow it.

2. Soil for sowing

When planting it, we must first choose the soil. It is best to choose soil that is deep, loose and soft. There are not many requirements for fertility, and general fertility is fine.

3. Sowing

Before planting, we prepare the land. First, deep plow it, clean up the rocks and weeds inside, then rake it and make it flat. It is also best to disinfect it to prevent diseases and pests from remaining inside.

After that, you can dig small grooves on it, determine the row spacing, and then plant the seeds. After planting, fill the grooves, that is, cover the seeds to keep them warm. Then pour an appropriate amount of water on it and wait for the seeds to germinate.

4. Maintenance after planting

After the seeds are planted, it will take some time for them to start to germinate. After germination, we should start to take good care of them.

First of all, you need to properly shield it from the sunlight and prevent it from being exposed to direct strong light, otherwise the small buds will easily be burned. Then water it appropriately to meet its initial water needs. After a period of time, the small buds will grow into seedlings. When the seedlings grow to a certain height, they should be thinned out appropriately. The weak, sick and disabled seedlings should be removed in time, leaving the healthy and intact ones. This way, the nutrients will not be dispersed, allowing the seedlings to grow faster.
