You have to "cool down" the newly bought flower pots first, otherwise no matter what flower it is, it will die in the pot!

You need to cool down the newly bought flower pots!

If you just bought a new flowerpot, don't change the flowerpot immediately. It's not that now is not a suitable time to change the pot, but the flower will die if you change the pot. Instead, the new flower pot must be free of "heat" before use, otherwise it will be bad for the flowers.

Why can't it be used immediately?

The most common flower pots are ceramic pots. This type of pot is more breathable and cheaper, and is very cost-effective for growing flowers, so it is very popular.

However, ceramic flower pots cannot be used immediately after purchase, because they become very dry during the firing process and contain substances such as sulfur, which will create "fire" and if used immediately, they will compete with plants for water.

So what should we do?

1. When you buy a new flower pot, pour clean water into it and soak it for 2 or 3 days. This will remove all the "heat" in the ceramic flower pot and it will not compete with plants for water.

2. Pour out the clean water in the ceramic flowerpot, then let the ceramic flowerpot dry naturally, and then you can plant flowers.

Flower pots that have been idle for a long time need to be detoxified!

Due to improper climate, watering, fertilization, pruning and other reasons, some flowers "sacrificed" heroically, leaving behind a pile of empty pots. Can these old flower pots be used to grow flowers again? Of course you can, but you have to deal with it first~

Why can't it be used immediately?

Empty flower pots that have been left for a long time can be used to plant flowers again, but they cannot be used to plant flowers immediately. Because of long-term idleness, soil and plant pathogens will remain in the flowerpots, which will infect new flowers if used immediately.

So what should we do?

1. First, rinse the old flower pot briefly to remove the dirt on the surface. Pour potassium permanganate solution into a large container, put the old flower pot in, soak it for half a day, take out the flower pot, rinse it with clean water, and it can be used after drying.

2. If there is no potassium permanganate solution, you can use potassium permanganate tablets instead. These tablets can be bought at pharmacies and are very cheap. Dissolve one tablet in water and soak the pot as above.

Take one more step when repotting, and the flowers will grow stronger and stronger!

Generally, after growing flowers for 2 or 3 years, you need to change their pots and soil so that the flowers can absorb more nutrients, grow better and bloom more!

Trim the roots when repotting, and the flowers will grow faster!

When repotting flowers, it is very beneficial to their growth if you can take the opportunity to trim their roots.

Specific steps:

1. Stop watering the flowers one week before repotting. This will make it easier for the flowers to be removed from the pots and minimize damage to the plant's roots.

2. Gently clean the soil on the roots of the flowers, then use sterilized scissors to trim off the roots that are too long, too old or have insect eggs. If there is rot, cut them off.

3. After pruning, soak the roots of the flowers in carbendazim or potassium permanganate solution. After soaking for half an hour, take them out and dry them. This can kill bacteria and disinfect them.

4. Then put sterilized potting soil into the flowerpot, put the flowers back into the pot, gently compact the soil, and then water it thoroughly. Place the flowers in a cool place for a week and then you can maintain them normally.
