How to reproduce Jinhuangxing by beheading

How to reproduce Jinhuangxing by beheading

1. Prepare tools

Before beheading it, you must prepare the tools you will use. What we need is a clean breeding container and a knife or utility knife or other tool that is sharp enough and can cut quickly.

2. Beheading location

Before you start cutting or clipping, you need to find a good spot. Generally speaking, if we want to cut the thin stems of a plant that has grown too long, we should start near the top and avoid cutting off roots that are too long.

In another case, if we choose some plants with thicker stems and leaves mostly growing at the roots, we have to cut them close to the rhizomes. When cutting, it is best to follow the principle of being fast and ensuring that the cut is as smooth as possible.

3. Drying of plants

For the plants that have been cut, we can dry them first. For the cut parts, we should not rush to plant them. We should first pick off the leaves that are too close to the cut part, and then place it in a darker place to dry.

It should be noted that when drying, the cut should not be exposed to water or dust. What we need to do is wait for the cut to dry and then shrink on its own. The drying time is generally determined by the size of the cut on the stem. Moreover, the cut parts should not be placed directly under strong light, it is best to place them in a darker place.

4. Root Transplantation

We can prepare some empty bottles or cups, put an appropriate amount of water in them, and then place the cut part at the mouth of the bottle.

Be sure to take care not to let the wound come into direct contact with water, so we must control the water level. It is best to leave a distance of 5 to 6 mm between the water surface and the wound. This can prevent the wound from contact with dust and increase humidity. When the plant takes root, we can move it into a pot.
