What is the difference between Christmas claw lotus and Christmas claw orchid, how to grow

1. The difference between the two

Christmas cactus and Christmas cactus are actually the same plant, there is no difference, they are just called by two different names. It is a succulent plant with many branches, vertical stems and leaves, a relatively long flowering period, and bright and beautiful colors when it blooms. Therefore, it is very popular and is one of the common potted flowers.

2. Maintenance methods

1. Temperature: It has poor cold resistance and should be moved indoors in winter. Pay attention to temperature control and do not let the temperature drop below 10 degrees. The normal suitable temperature is between 20 and 25 degrees. It will go dormant during high temperatures in summer. More ventilation should be provided to allow it to safely spend the summer.

2. Light: It is a semi-day plant and prefers diffuse light. It can be placed in a place with scattered light at ordinary times, and given at least six hours of light every day, otherwise it will affect flowering. The sunlight is strong in summer, so you need to block it in time to avoid sunburn.

3. Watering: It likes a humid environment, so water it frequently, but be careful not to allow water to accumulate. Especially during the flowering period, stagnant water will cause the flowers to fall off. You can sprinkle more water to increase the humidity.

4. Fertilization: Fertilize frequently and provide nourishment during maintenance. Because the flowering period is long, more nutrients are consumed. Apply more high-phosphorus fertilizer before flowering, and apply it once every ten days or so. With sufficient nutrients, the flowers will be brighter and there will be more of them.
