If you graft Christmas cactus like this, the flowers will pop up!

Every time you see the layers of Christmas cacti in other people’s homes, are you extremely envious? In fact, it is not difficult to grow such a Christmas cactus, as long as you master the grafting method!

Steps for grafting Christmas cactus:

1. Choose the rootstock. Generally, when grafting Christmas cactus, cactus is used as the rootstock. You can choose those cactus varieties that are slightly cold-resistant so that they will not wilt in winter. At the same time, the leaves must be thick and have enough nutrients for growth.

2. When choosing Christmas cactus scion, it is best to choose leaves that are slightly older and thicker, as these leaves are generally sufficient in nutrients. Then use a sterilized knife to cut the lower end of the Christmas cactus into a duckbill shape.

3. Prepare a solution of carbendazim and disinfect the leaves of Christmas cactus and cactus rootstocks with the solution to prevent black rot during grafting.

4. Use a small knife disinfected with carbendazim to make a horizontal cut about 1-2 cm from the top of the cactus leaf, as shown in the picture.

5. After making a horizontal cut, a cut surface will appear on the cactus. Use a knife to make another horizontal cut on the cut surface of the cactus. The depth should be about 2/3 of the Christmas cactus leaf.

6. Remove a little bit of the skin of the Christmas cactus leaf, about 1 cm is enough, and then insert the peeled Christmas cactus directly into the opening of the cactus leaf. If you are worried that the Christmas cactus is not fixed, you can put a toothpick through it or secure it with a clip.

7. Place the grafted Christmas cactus in a cool and ventilated place indoors for about 2 weeks, then cut it into loose and breathable soil, water it thoroughly once, place it in a cool place for half an hour, and then move it to the sun for normal maintenance.

8. Take good care of the grafted Christmas cactus in the future, water it when the soil in the pot is dry, apply some compound fertilizer regularly, and apply some phosphorus and potassium fertilizer before it blooms. Soon you will have the Christmas cactus blooming layers of flowers!

If you divide Clivia like this, 1 pot can become 100 pots!

Clivia has shiny leaves and bright flowers. It is a rare flower that can be appreciated for both its flowers and leaves. Naturally, all flower lovers hope to have more Clivia in their homes! What should I do if I want to increase the size of one pot of Clivia into multiple pots? Divide the basins!

Steps for dividing Clivia into pots:

1. Generally, a healthy growing Clivia will produce a lot of young. When these small Clivias grow more than 3 leaves, you can start to divide them into pots while the temperature is above 15℃!

2. Take the Clivia out of the flowerpot, clean the soil on the roots, revealing the white roots.

3. Cut off the rotten roots, old roots, weak roots, etc. on the root system of the Clivia, leaving only the healthy roots, and then use a sterilized knife to cut off the small buds of the Clivia along with the roots. The more roots a Clivia seedling has, the easier it is for it to survive.

4. Soak the roots of the Clivia after transplanting in a solution of carbendazim for 20-40 minutes, then place them in a cool and ventilated place to dry the wounds and prevent root rot.

5. Re-pot the Clivia. In order to ensure looseness and breathability, you can put a few broken bricks and tiles at the bottom of the pot, and then put loose and breathable soil on it. You can mix nutrient soil and river sand in a ratio of 3:1, and then add some pine needles.

6. After re-potting the Clivia, place it in a cool and ventilated place for 1-2 weeks, and then place it in a place with sufficient scattered light for maintenance. In this way, one Clivia can become multiple pots!

If you plant the green radish in this way, it can grow up to 100 meters!

When asked about which flowers are most commonly grown at home, many flower lovers will definitely blurt out: Green ivy! The green ivy is beautiful and hardy, and it stays green all year round. So what is the most common method of propagation for Pothos? Of course it’s cuttings!

Steps for taking cuttings of green radish:

1. When you prune green ivy at home, you will usually cut off a lot of slightly longer branches. Don’t throw away these branches, they are just right for using for cuttings!

2. First use sterilized scissors to cut off all the leaves on the branches of the green radish. Then use a knife to cut a few times and cut the bare green radish branches into small sections. Each small section should be about 2-4cm. Just make sure there are nodes on each branch!

3. Find a container such as a plate, put a plastic bag on the plate, and put some nutrient soil in the plastic bag. If it is pure coconut coir, it would be better, as the survival rate of cuttings will be higher!

4. Put the cut green radish branches in, and then wrap the green radish branches with a plastic bag. The purpose of wrapping in plastic bags is to keep warm and moist, so that the branches of green radish can germinate more easily!

5. Open the plastic bag to let some air in every day, and use a spray bottle to spray some water on the branches of the green radish to keep them moist. In about a week, you can see new buds sprouting on the branches of the green radish!

6. After the green radish grows two new leaves, you can transplant the green radish branches into a flowerpot.

7. After that, place it in a place with sufficient diffuse light and take good care of it. Occasionally add some rice water and compound fertilizer to make the green radish grow faster. It only takes 1-2 months for it to grow into a green waterfall!
