How to grow the succulent Qingshengjin

How to grow the succulent Qingshengjin

Soil replacement

The most common method of propagation is by cuttings. It is easy to buy a mature Qingshengjin potted plant on the market, but in order to make it grow better, it is recommended that you directly change the potting soil. You can choose perlite, peat and other soil types. If you choose to take cuttings, you should do it during the growing season in spring or autumn. Take leaves or leaf clusters from healthy mature plants, dry them in the sun for a while, and then directly insert them into the sand.

temperature

This plant likes sunlight, but the environment must be well ventilated. Being in an environment that is too stuffy or too humid may cause the plant to rot. Because the plant is native to Africa, try to ensure that the growth temperature is not lower than 12 degrees Celsius. If conditions do not allow, it can be placed in an environment above 5 degrees Celsius as long as the soil is comfortably dry.

Watering

The number of watering should not be too many. When the air is dry in seasons such as autumn and winter, you can water it frequently by spraying.

Repotting

This plant grows slowly and normal growth can be ensured by repotting it about every three years. Repotting can be done before the growing season, that is, in early spring and late summer. The soil conditions of the potting soil should focus on permeability.

Pests and diseases

Their water content is higher than that of other plants, so if you don't pay attention to maintenance, it is easy to get infected by bacteria and cause the plants to rot. Therefore, ensuring the growing environment is clean and dry, and spraying a small amount of pesticides to inhibit bacterial growth once a month can effectively avoid this situation.

As for insect pests, the main one is root mealybugs. Pay attention to disinfecting the potting soil at ordinary times. Once it really happens, remove the affected parts, dry them in the sun and disinfect them, and then replant them.
