How to make camellia bloom faster

How to make camellia bloom faster

1. Flowering period and bud thinning

If you want it to bloom as soon as possible, you still need to understand the basic flowering time. Generally, camellia will bloom from December in winter to around March of the following year. It will not exceed this time node too much, so don't be too impatient. At this time, we should pay attention to the maintenance before the flowering period. The nutrients transmitted by each branch are limited. Too many flowers will disperse the nutrients and make the flower buds look unsightly. When flower buds grow, they should be thinned out, leaving only one on the top of a branch. This way, the flowers will bloom more vigorously.

2. Topdressing

Add an appropriate amount of potassium dihydrogen phosphate, this fertilizer can make the flower buds grow bigger and the flowers more colorful. Don't give too much at one time, just give small amounts multiple times. This step should be done when the flower buds appear.

3. Light and temperature

Light is an indispensable factor. If conditions permit, it is best to provide full-body illumination. This is why it is recommended to cultivate camellia in potted plants, which will make it easier to overwinter and more convenient to move indoors or provide shelter. Flower buds appear in late autumn, winter and early spring. Be careful to prevent frost and do not place them in cold places. Even in early spring, you should not take it lightly as there will be unstable situations with sudden drops in temperature. Once the flower buds and flower buds are frozen, it will be difficult for them to bloom again. Keep the temperature above 10 degrees and below 20 degrees.

4. Moisture

When all the above conditions are prepared, the flower buds will bloom. Pay attention to the humidity of the air and soil when they are about to bloom. You can use a watering can to replenish water and provide nutrients, so that the flowers will bloom more beautifully and the leaves will be more beautiful.
