How to plant bellflower seeds

Time of choice

First, you can choose mature seeds and sow them immediately after collecting them so that the plants can bloom in the second year. You can also wait until the autumn cools down before sowing, but if you sow it at this time, it may have to wait until the spring of the third year to bloom.

Seed selection

The seeds of campanula are very tiny. This requires us to try to choose relatively full and round seeds in order to increase the success rate of sowing. In addition, you should also observe whether it is affected by diseases and insect pests.

Choice of substrate

The first thing to consider is whether the drainage is good. We can choose a porous substrate, which has better drainage. Another thing is nutrients. If they are abundant, it can not only increase the chance of survival, but also reduce the burden of fertilizing later. Then there is the pH value. It is better to adjust the pH value to around 5.5, which is more conducive to the healthy growth of young plants.

Sowing and processing

We also said above that its seeds are very small, so we can directly adopt the sowing method. Sprinkle the seeds lightly on top of the soil without covering it with another layer of soil. After spreading, we must pay attention to controlling the surrounding environment. First of all, the temperature. The optimal temperature range is between 20 and 22 degrees Celsius. Then there is water. It should not be too dry, nor too wet. Just keep the soil slightly moist. Also, pay attention to the sunlight. After sowing, the seeds should be properly shaded and not exposed to direct sunlight. It will take fourteen to eighteen days for the seeds to germinate.

Post-Processing

What is discussed here is the treatment after germination. Keep the soil moisture low to prevent them from growing too tall. In addition, some light can be given appropriately.
