The steps of cuttings of the fortune tree and other propagation methods

The steps of cuttings of the fortune tree and other propagation methods

1. Cutting steps

1. Time selection: The money tree can be propagated by cuttings. Cuttings can be done in spring, summer and autumn. It is best to do it from May to August each year. The climate is mild and suitable at this time, which is conducive to the rooting and growth of branches.

2. Cutting branches: Before grafting the money tree, you must select good branches. You can cut semi-lignified branches of the current year. The length of about 10 cm can be used. The cut at the lower end should be inclined at 45 degrees, and the cut surface should be kept smooth. Process the branches, cut off the leaves at the lower end, and keep a few leaves on the upper part. After cutting the branches, you can put them aside to dry.

3. Prepare the medium: The medium used for cuttings must have good air permeability and cannot use sticky and heavy media. You can choose to use coarse sand, vermiculite, perlite, etc.

4. Carry out cuttings: first use a wooden stick to poke a few holes on the medium, then dip the cut branches in rooting powder and insert them, cover the medium and gently press it tightly with your hands.

5. Post-management: Water the medium after cutting to keep it moist. Do not allow water to accumulate. Place it in a shaded place to promote rooting of the branches as soon as possible.

2. Other reproduction methods

In addition to cuttings, the money tree can also be propagated by layering, and the survival rate is relatively high.
