How to deal with Astilbe after flowering

Treatment after flowering of Astilbe

1. Pruning

After the astilbe blooms, the flowering branches and dry branches and leaves need to be cut off in time, and then fertilizer can be applied in time to replenish the consumed nutrients.

2. Shade

After the Astilbe blooms, it is best to provide appropriate shade for the plant and place it in a well-ventilated location with scattered light indoors, which will help the plant recover quickly.

How to grow Astilbe to bloom

Astilbe generally blooms only once a year, and the flowering period is in summer and autumn, specifically from June to September, and lasts for about three months. Its ornamental value is highest in midsummer.

1. Soil

If you want the Astilbe to bloom on time, it is best to provide it with loose, fertile, well-drained soil, and also add some organic fertilizer to the soil to supplement nutrients for the plant to bloom.

2. Light temperature

Astilbe prefers a growing environment with sufficient light, but avoid direct sunlight. If you want it to bloom well, it is best to control the temperature between 15-35℃.

3. Water and fertilizer

Astilbe likes moisture and has high requirements for fertilizer. If it lacks water and nutrients during its growth, it will affect the flowering of the plant. You can apply some phosphorus and potassium fertilizers before flowering.
