How to breed succulent balls

How to breed succulent balls

1. Operation method

1. Planting seeds

The female and male flowers of the succulent ball are not together, and the ratio is somewhat unbalanced. Generally, there are fewer male flowers, so it is difficult to keep seeds naturally during the planting process. Pollination must be controlled artificially to ensure that more fruits are produced. After the seeds are mature, they will fall off by themselves. Harvest the seeds and select excellent varieties for sowing. Generally, they will germinate in more than half a month after sowing, and the seedlings will slowly grow. In fact, the succulent ball has appeared in my country for a long time, but it is still very rare. The reason is that the probability of it naturally bearing fruit is relatively low. Therefore, if you want to keep seeds, you must pay attention to the need for artificial pollination during planting.

2. Grafting

Generally, the same genus of the plant is chosen as the rootstock, and then the seedlings of the ball of cloth are cut as scion. After the two cuts are aligned, hold them tightly with your hands and then tie them tightly with a thin rope. It will usually heal in twenty days, and at this time the ball of cloth can grow rapidly!

2. Daily maintenance

If you want to grow more, you can use the above methods, but to ensure the survival rate, later maintenance is also very important:

1. It likes a relatively dry and mild environment and likes sunshine. It cannot withstand severe cold and cannot be invaded by moisture. In winter, it is necessary to pay attention to the temperature not being lower than 12 degrees.

2. The most suitable soil for growth is sandy soil with good drainage. The drainage must be good to prevent water accumulation and root rot.

3. Spring is the time when it grows fastest, so you can water it appropriately. In summer and winter, try to keep it dry.

4. The seedlings need to be repotted every spring. At this time, you must add some complete granular fertilizer to the soil to supplement nutrients.

5. Be careful not to move the pot frequently to avoid damaging the ball and prevent white leaf juice from flowing out of the wound, otherwise the entire ball will rot.
