How to reproduce the thorny rose

How to reproduce the thorny rose

Propagation by division

Breeding time: Can be carried out all year round.

Select large plants that have strong growth potential and are preferably disease-free, and replant all the divisions that grow from their roots. These cutlets can be cut directly from the main plant with a sharp knife. This method is the simplest method of reproduction. Its biggest advantage is that it is easy to survive and takes a short time.

Cutting propagation

Breeding time: Can be carried out all year round.

This method is also a commonly used method in plant propagation. Choose plants with stronger and fuller branches, leaves, buds, etc. First, insert it in sandy soil or water. Wait until new roots sprout, then you can plant it in the soil. However, during the process of cuttings, you should pay attention to the following: it is best to select the cuttings while inserting them into the sand, which is very helpful for their survival; the temperature should be maintained between 20 and 25 degrees, which is conducive to the growth of new roots. When the temperature is too low, rooting is slow, and when the temperature is too high, the cut of the branches is prone to rot. At the same time, the humidity of the environment must be ensured, but it should not be too humid.

Layering propagation

Breeding time: Can be carried out all year round.

Select relatively sturdy branches that are free of disease and bury them directly in the sand, but the sand must be moist. Once you're sure it has rooted, you can cut it off and replant it. This method is rarely used and is only used when the plant is not suitable for reproduction or on larger plants. Its method is similar to cuttings, but cuttings involve cutting the branches first and then inserting them into sandy soil.

In fact, there is another method, which is sowing, but this method is more cumbersome and not suitable for home planting. The most important thing is that its survival coefficient is too low.
