Can I still grow Phalaenopsis orchids after they have withered?

1. Can I still raise it?

This kind of flower has a long lifespan and can live for about 5-15 years as long as it is cared for correctly. Don't rush to throw away the flowers after they have withered. This does not mean that they are dead. You can still continue to keep them. The flowering period basically ends around the end of June. As long as you take good care of them, they will bloom again next year. If the maintenance method is incorrect and the growth environment is not suitable, growth problems may occur and may even lead to death.

2. Post-flowering care

1. Pruning: After the flowers wither, first clean up the remaining flowers, and then cut the flower branches from the base to reduce nutrient consumption, promote nutrient accumulation, and lay a good nutritional foundation for the next flowering. If you cannot wait for it to bloom next year and want it to bloom in 2-3 months, you can cut it off from the 5th or 6th node from the flower branch, but the nutrient consumption will also increase.

2. Repotting: You can take advantage of this period to replace the potting soil and plant it in a large pot to provide new nutrients to the plant.

3. Fertilizer: The blooming flowers consume a lot of nutrients. Replenish them in time after the flowering period and apply a little more fertilizer. Be careful to keep the concentration moderate and the frequency does not need to be too frequent. It can be applied twice a month.
