How to Make Dahlias Bloom for Christmas

How to Make Dahlias Bloom for Christmas

Natural flowering period

In their natural state, dahlias bloom for a very long time. If all varieties are counted, they can bloom for half a year, so it is not difficult to make them bloom at Christmas. The whole flower is very large, but each petal is very small, and the arrangement of the petals is very regular, so the overall look is very solemn. It is very suitable for display in more solemn occasions. Whether it is pure color or mixed color, it has a strong aura, which will make the whole venue appear more solemn.

Flowering control magic skill: pruning

It is very effective to use pruning to adjust the flowering period. Here are two methods. First, only leave single buds and let them become single plants. The withered flower branches can be cut short one or two times so that new buds can grow as soon as possible and continue to bloom. Second, this method can be used for varieties with poor divergence. Pinching should be done when they are still seedlings so that the branches can grow faster. Pruning should be done in July and August so that flower buds can grow quickly and bloom as soon as possible.

Flowering period control magic skill: heat preservation

In order to make them bloom earlier, if conditions permit, they can be cultivated in a greenhouse so that the required temperature can be easily reached. It should be around 25℃ during the day, and not too high. If it exceeds this, certain measures must be taken to cool it down, such as ventilating it. If the temperature is lower than 10℃ at night, it is not good. At this time, appropriate warming and insulation are required. If you persist in this way, you will be able to grow flowers with better colors and shapes.
