How to care for the rich tree in winter

How to care for the rich tree in winter

1. Suitable temperature

The fortune tree must live in an environment above 8 degrees Celsius, so the most suitable indoor temperature in winter is between 16 and 18 degrees Celsius. Once the temperature is too low, the rich tree will lose its leaves, and in serious cases it may even die.

2. Lighting

The Chinese rich tree prefers warm light and should be placed in a place with sufficient sunlight. When placing it, care should be taken to let its leaves face the light. If the Chinese rich tree is kept in the shade for a long time, its growth and development will be slow, and its branches and leaves will be deformed or even fall off. When the temperature is not so low in late winter, you can move the pot outdoors on a sunny day and expose it to the sun for one to two hours every day.

3. Watering

Every three to five days, spray the leaves of the rich tree with water. This will make the leaves moist and beautiful, and promote indoor circulation. If the indoor temperature in winter is not very low, you can extend the watering interval appropriately to keep the soil dry and moist. Do not water if it is dry. You can touch it with your hand. If the surface is completely dry, or the top one centimeter of soil is completely dry, then you can water it. Be careful not to leave too much water in the pot, as this will easily cause stem rot or even root rot.

4. Fertilization

Winter is not the most suitable season for fertilizing the rich tree. Because most trees are kept indoors during this season, fertilizing them will cause damage to the environment.

5. Pests

Because doors and windows are closed most of the time in winter and there is no ventilation, once the lucky tree is harassed by red spider mites and scale insects, it is necessary to catch the insects or spray them with pesticides such as cypermethrin. However, since it is placed indoors, the overall environment is not suitable for spraying pesticides, so catching and removing them is the first choice. In addition, proper ventilation helps prevent pests.

6. Other matters needing attention

It is not suitable to repot the tree in winter. The most suitable season to repot the tree is spring.

The fortune tree is not suitable for frequent relocation, especially in winter. Because this will make its roots unstable, the consequences may be that the tree starts to lose leaves at the least, and may even die at the most serious.
