The legend about Roselle is a love story from ancient times. There were two tribal leaders, one was He Bo and the other was Luo Bo. The two men fought for many years for a woman, who was Concubine Mi. Later, she married Luo Bo. He Bo was very jealous and decided to start a war to take Mi Fei back and take her place.

Luo Bo was also actively preparing for war and asked the fortune teller Kunwu to do divination. The result of Kunwu's divination was that the war was unlucky and the war was bound to be lost. But He Bo's army had already begun the attack, and Lo Bo was defeated step by step. He Bo demanded that either he hand over Concubine Mi, or his entire family would be exterminated. Of course He Bo was unwilling, but when Concubine Mi found out, she asked He Bo to come and pick her up. On the wedding boat, Concubine Mi jumped into the river and drowned. She drowned herself for justice, and people said she turned into the god of Luo River. Later, many bright red flowers bloomed by the river, and they were called Luoshen flowers.
