Ball splitting method

The first thing to do is to divide the bulbs, which is done from April to September every year. Remove the bulblets from the mother plant and dry them in the sun for two to three days. You can also smear some wood ash on the removed surfaces. Then put the bulblets in the prepared flowerpots and spray them with some water mist. When picking, avoid breaking off the bulbils directly with your hands. It is best to cut off the connecting parts with a knife to prevent the pith from being pulled out.

Grafting

This method is carried out when it is growing vigorously, usually from May to July, using cactus plants as rootstocks, and ensuring that the size of the rootstock is larger than the grafted scion. When preparing the scion, you cannot directly break it with your hands. Use a knife to flatten the top of the rootstock, then flatten the lower end of the scion, then align the position of the pith so that they stick tightly together, and finally tie the entire plant together with a rope and place it in a ventilated or cool place for maintenance.

Seeding method

When sowing, choose to do it when the temperature is high, because the seeds can germinate faster in this environment. Generally, June and July are the best time. First, soak the seeds in warm water for two to three days, then plant the seeds in the prepared loose soil. Do not plant the seeds too deep, and keep them two centimeters apart. Replenish water by absorbing water from the bottom of the pot, and then place it in a sunny place to grow.
