How to grow water hibiscus

Breeding points

First, choose a good basin or water tank for planting. The opening of the basin should be about 55 cm and the depth should be 30 cm.

The second step is to choose the lotus root to be planted, put two-thirds of pond soil into the selected pot, and put pig manure or cake fertilizer at the bottom as base fertilizer. Stir the soil into a muddy state, select lotus roots with roots at the bottom and buds on the top, and put two in one pot. Don't add water at the beginning, so that the soil can tighten the lotus root and facilitate its growth. When the leaves grow out, we need to add water little by little, and finally fill the entire pot with water.

Fertilization

Because it is cultivated in pots, the nutrient content in the soil is limited, so we need to apply appropriate top dressing, usually once a month. When two leaves appear, apply another top dressing.

Moisture

Water hibiscus is a plant that grows in water, so it has a particularly high demand for water. Summer is the season when water hibiscus grows vigorously. The temperature is high at this time, and the absorption and evaporation of water are relatively fast. We must add water to the pot in time to avoid the phenomenon of dumb flowers in water hibiscus.

temperature

In winter, water hibiscus can enter dormancy when the temperature is around two degrees, so we must maintain a good indoor temperature, which will be more conducive to its growth in the second year. In order to make it bloom as soon as possible, you can put a few pieces of iron in the water, which will make it grow more vigorously.
