What to do if there are ants in the flowerpot

What to do if there are ants in the flowerpot

Method 1: Replace the potting soil

First, dig the flowers out of the original pots. Be careful not to damage the roots of the flowers when removing them from the pots. Then clean the soil on the roots of the flowers. Pay attention to whether there are ants on the plants. If there are, deal with them in time. Then wash the roots with clean water, dry them aside, disinfect the new pots and soil, and then replant the flowers. It is better to dispose of the original potting soil as soon as possible to prevent ants from breeding.

Method 2: Lure

You can lay a piece of cloth near the flowerpot and put sugar or bones that ants like on it. In order to get food, ants will come out of their holes and work together to carry it. At this time, we can take measures to eliminate them. This method may need to be used several times to gradually eliminate the ants.

Method 3: Flooding

Observe carefully in the pot to see if you can find a small hole similar to an ant hole, and then water that location. However, be careful not to water too much to kill ants and harm our beloved flowers!

Method 4: The magical effect of cigarettes

This method is very easy. Prepare a plastic bottle, put cigarette butts or tobacco in it, and then soak it with hot water. When the water turns brown, dilute it and sprinkle it into the flower pot.

These methods can effectively control ants and reduce the damage to plants caused by medication, but if they are in serious condition and ineffective, it is recommended that you use pesticides as early as possible. I hope that all flower lovers’ flowers will be healthy and beautiful!
