Gourd Growth Environment and Conditions

The gourd has a relatively strong vitality and prefers a warm growing environment. It needs sufficient sunlight and a suitable moisture environment when it is maintained. It is widely planted throughout my country, both in tropical and temperate regions. It requires well-drained soil when planted.

Gourd Growing Conditions

Gourd can grow in most areas. It needs a relatively warm environment for maintenance. Its root system is relatively developed and has a strong ability to absorb water, so it needs a sufficient moisture environment.

Gourd growth temperature

Gourds generally grow in a relatively warm environment. When planting, the temperature needs to be kept at around 15 degrees, so that its seed germination rate can be significantly improved. During the growth process, the most suitable temperature is 22-24 degrees.

The growth process of gourd

After sowing the gourd, it will grow the first true leaf after about a week of growth. This is the germination stage. As it continues to grow, the number of true leaves is also increasing. When it grows 4-5 leaves, it is the seedling stage. Then it will grow the first female flower. This is the initial flowering stage. Its stems and leaves are gradually growing, and it will bloom, and then bear fruit.

Gourd planting time and method

Gourds are usually planted in spring, around April. They are usually propagated by sowing. They need to be germinated in advance and then planted in loose, fertile, and well-drained soil. Seedlings will grow about a week after planting.
