How to tell if air plants are lacking water?

Identify the basis of water shortage

For other plants, we can judge whether they are lacking water based on the condition of the potting soil. However, it is not a plant that lives in the soil. Moreover, there are many types of air plants. The largest can grow to 2 meters high, while the smallest is only 10 centimeters high. In addition, the growing environment is different. So how do we judge whether it is lacking water? In fact, the easiest way is to judge based on its growth habits.

The state of water shortage

It is easy to see when air plants are lacking water, and you can also feel it by touching it. Under normal circumstances, if you see its leaves curled up, this is a sign of lack of water; or if you touch it with your hands and feel that its leaves are much softer than before, and the color of the leaves is not as bright as before, this is also a sign of lack of water. When there is enough water, its leaves will be very plump and moist, and its color will be very bright.

If you encounter the above situation, you should start to water the air plant. If you increase its moisture by spraying water, it will soon return to normal. However, excessive watering can easily cause its roots to turn black and rot. Therefore, when friends are replenishing water for their plants, they should first understand which type of air plants they are growing.

Air plants are relatively easy to grow. As long as their roots are not in stagnant water, they can grow healthily, and they do not require much fertilizer.
