Can’t you keep the succulents alive in autumn? See if you have fallen for these tricks!

ventilation

Why does black rot occur? Because the water accumulates in the soil and does not dry up in time, once the temperature rises, the water temperature in the soil will rise, and then the roots will be suffocated, and finally, black rot will occur...

Therefore, when planting succulents, it is best to choose a well-ventilated place, such as a windowsill with a breeze when opened, a balcony with windows that can be opened, etc.

Sunshade

If you have the conditions to grow your succulents outdoors, then you need to prepare shade and a sunshade net. You must provide shade in the middle of the day. You can buy a special shade net to create a cool space for your succulents!

Avoid rain as much as possible

I think everyone rarely plants succulents, right? Succulent plants grown in pots will easily accumulate water once they are exposed to rain. Once water accumulates, the roots will easily rot.

In addition, when rain hits the center of the leaves of succulents, when the sun shines on them, the reflection of the water droplets will also burn the center of the leaves.

Therefore, it is best not to let succulents get wet in the rain. If you accidentally get wet in the rain, pour out the accumulated water in time and absorb the water droplets on the leaves~

Change the pot as little as possible

In early autumn, the temperature is still too high in some places, and many succulents are still in dormancy, or grow slowly due to the high temperature. At this time, it will take longer to repot and slow down the growth. If you are not careful, the succulents may die.

Therefore, the temperature should not be lower than 25 degrees, and do not change the pot unless necessary!

Regular watering with carbendazim

Black rot of succulent plants is caused not only by improper daily maintenance, but also by infection with pathogens. Therefore, for prevention purposes, it is best to irrigate the roots with carbendazim once every half a month, 8g of carbendazim mixed with 200ml of water.

Pay attention to watering time

The temperature in early autumn is still very high. Do not water at noon because the sun is too strong. Once you water, the water temperature in the soil will rise, then burn the roots and cause black rot.

It is best to water in the morning and evening.

The amount of watering should be appropriate

The immersion pot method is suitable for watering succulents in early autumn, but once the soil surface becomes moist, remove the pot immediately!

Don't just pluck the leaves

Many flower lovers like to use succulent leaves for leaf cuttings, but when the temperature is still very high in early autumn, please be sure to control your hands, because when you break off a leaf, you will create a wound on the stem of the succulent, thereby increasing the chance of the succulent getting black rot.

If you must masturbate, please apply carbendazim to the wound for prevention afterwards.

Burying medicine in the soil

The turn of summer and autumn is the time when all kinds of insects are rampant. In order to prevent the appearance of hateful insects, you can bury medicine directly in the soil. Drugs like Antworm Lin and Furadan can be used.

What should I do if black rot occurs?

For example, in the picture below, this three-year-old black magic plant does not look problematic, but if you look closely, you can see that the stem below is a little black and wrinkled, which could be black rot.

2. Start cutting from the root, if there are obvious signs of black rot inside the rhizome.

3. If you cut it diagonally, you will see obvious signs of waterlogging and black rot, so continue cutting upwards. The middle part is still very dark in color, so it means that the black rot is more serious this time, so keep cutting!

4. Only when the pure green cut surface is revealed can it be said that you have cut the healthy part.

5. After removing all the rotten parts, this is all that is left...

6. Disinfect the wound with carbendazim, and then place it in a ventilated and cool place to dry.

7. Repot the plant. After potting, place the plant in a cool and ventilated place for a week.

<<:  If you use expired pills at home, mix them with water and water the flowers, the pots will burst!

>>:  Why apply fertilizer? Just throw these garbage into the pots and the flowers will grow wildly like they were injected with chicken blood!
