When to plant autumn beans?

1. When to plant autumn beans?

It is understood that the best growing temperature for autumn beans is 25-28 degrees. August to September every year, which is around the beginning of autumn, is exactly in this temperature range, making it more suitable for growing autumn beans. 1. Variety selection

There are many varieties of beans, and it is suitable to choose varieties with stronger cold resistance, good resistance and insensitivity to light for autumn sowing beans.

2. Suitable soil

Green beans have high requirements for soil, which must be loose, fertile and well-drained. When selecting seeds, you should choose fields with deep soil, loose soil and sufficient fertility to ensure the normal growth of beans.

3. Seed treatment

In order to save the growth time of beans in the seedling stage, the beans seeds need to be germinated before sowing. The method is very simple. First, brew the bean seeds with warm water at about 50℃ for 15 minutes, then soak them in clean water for about 24 hours. Put the seeds on damp cotton cloth to germinate and they can germinate and be sown in about two days.

4. Reasonable density planting

There is no need to raise seedlings in advance when planting beans in autumn, you can just sow them directly. Before sowing beans, you must first apply enough base fertilizer. You can choose organic fertilizer or compound fertilizer . After applying the base fertilizer and preparing the land, you can plant it. Be careful not to plant too densely. Generally, the spacing between plants should be 15-20 cm and the spacing between rows should be 50-60 cm.

During the growth period of beans, fertilizers should be applied in time to ensure their normal growth and development. In the early stages of bean growth, appropriate amounts of nitrogen fertilizer, phosphorus fertilizer and potassium fertilizer should be applied. The amount of nitrogen fertilizer applied should not be too much, otherwise it will cause the beans to grow too lushly and affect their yield and quality.

6. Water in time

Beans need sufficient water to grow, so in the dry season, be sure to water them in time to keep the soil moist. At the same time, be careful to avoid over-watering, so as not to cause the beans to grow too vigorously and affect their quality.

7. Prevent and control pests and diseases

During the growth period, beans are easily attacked by a variety of diseases and pests, such as bean aphids, aphids, mites, etc. Therefore, during the cultivation process, pesticides should be sprayed in time to prevent the occurrence of diseases and pests to ensure the yield and quality of beans.

8. Harvest at the right time

Autumn beans can be harvested 10-15 days after flowering. Be especially careful when harvesting so as not to damage other flower buds on the inflorescence, and certainly not to pick the inflorescence together. Harvest every 3-5 days. During the peak pod-setting period, harvest once every other day.
