seed

Collecting seeds: Starting from June every year, the selfheal will slowly turn yellow and then wither. When it withers to 80%, its fruit clusters can be cut off. After drying naturally, the seeds can be manually screened out, and other impurities in the seeds can be cleaned up. They can then be stored in a cool and dry place.

Planting time: Spring planting time: late March to mid-April; autumn planting time: late August.

Planting method: Sprinkle the seeds on the soil according to appropriate row spacing. Do not plant too densely. The distance between seeds can be controlled at about 20 cm. Cover the seeds with a layer of fine soil, press the soil lightly with your hands, and then water them. Be sure not to wash the seeds out when watering. The soil should be kept moist, but no waterlogging should occur. It will sprout in about half a month.

Division

Planting time: When new buds appear at the end of spring.

Planting method: dig out the older roots from the soil and divide them. Do not plant them too densely. The spacing can be controlled at about 25 cm x 10 cm. After planting, press the soil lightly with your hands, then water it to keep the soil at a reasonable humidity. New seedlings will grow in about a week, and normal maintenance is required at this time.
