Home Planting

In terms of soil, Andrographis paniculata does not have too many requirements and is easy to grow. When planting it at home, you can either place the plant in water to grow roots, or you can trim the plant and insert it obliquely into the potting soil. Because Andrographis paniculata does not have very high requirements for the growing environment, as long as you remember to water it regularly, the plant will grow well. The above is the way to grow crops at home.

Field planting

Generally speaking, Andrographis paniculata is mostly planted in fields. It does not have high requirements for land and can be planted on ordinary land. In terms of the environment, Andrographis paniculata is suitable for growing in an environment with relatively flat terrain, loose soil, and good drainage and irrigation conditions. It can be grown as a pure crop, intercropped in orchards, or intercropped with multiple crops. One thing to note is that you must not plant Andrographis paniculata after planting Solanaceae crops to avoid the plants being infected with black stem disease, etc.

When planting, try to stretch the roots as much as possible and keep the depth appropriate. Water immediately after planting to keep the soil moist. During the planting period, water and fertilizer management must be done well. Andrographis paniculata prefers moisture and is not drought-tolerant, so the soil must be kept moist but not too wet. At the same time, topdressing should be done well, which requires the use of a large amount of nitrogen fertilizer to be timely and effective. It should also be noted that the whole plant of Andrographis paniculata can be used as medicine, so when the plant is about 30 cm tall, the top needs to be removed to promote the growth of side buds.
