Breeding methods and precautions

illumination

Grass jade is a light-loving plant and should usually be placed in a bright place without direct sunlight. Lack of light will cause the plant to become loose and the leaves to have poor light transmittance. If the light is too strong, the leaves will not grow well and their color will turn into light brown. Even worse, the leaves may be burned and form scars. The branches and leaves of the grass jade plant grown under suitable light are highly transparent, plump, thick and tender.

Moisture

Spring and autumn are the growing seasons for the plant, and it is best to water it after the soil is dry. In summer, the amount of watering should be reduced, and it is recommended to just spray water mist on the leaves. In winter, place it in a sunny room and don't water it too much, just spray it more.

soil

The best soil for grass jade is a mixture of perlite, mud and cinders, with pumice and vermiculite added. A layer of granular river sand can be spread on the surface of the soil, and a layer of expanded clay can be placed at the bottom of the pot.

Hair roots

The specific method for rooting the grass jade is to plant the plant after the wound has dried, and then place it in a ventilated and cool place until new roots grow, and then gradually water it, while also increasing the light.

Maintenance

Because the grass jade enters dormancy due to the high temperature in summer, the plant stops growing or grows slowly, and the leaves at the bottom of the plant gradually dry up. At this time, the soil should be kept in a relatively soil state. You only need to water the edge of the pot a little bit every month, avoiding watering the center of the leaves. Due to the high temperature, plants are prone to root rot and heart rot, so you only need to ensure that the plant roots have the water they need to grow slowly. Do not fail to water them, so as not to prolong the time it takes for dormant plants to wake up.

winter

It is recommended to protect it with a glass cover, keep the soil slightly moist, and give a small amount of water every month. At this time, the humidity of the grass jade is relatively high because of heat preservation, and the sunlight during the day also increases the temperature, so the leaves will be very tender, plump and beautiful.
