What is flower fertilizer?

Introduction to Flower Fertilizer

Flower fertilizer is a type of substance that provides the nutrients needed for plant growth, improves soil properties, and increases soil fertility. The rationality of the application of flower fertilizer directly affects the growth and development of flowers.

Types of flower fertilizer

Flower fertilizers are generally divided into organic fertilizers and inorganic fertilizers.

Organic Fertilizer

Organic fertilizers mainly include human excrement, livestock feces and various cakes, such as soybean cake, which contain elements such as nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium. When applying organic fertilizer, be sure to ferment it first, as raw fertilizer can easily damage the roots of flowers.

Inorganic Fertilizer

Inorganic fertilizer, also known as chemical fertilizer, has high nutrient content, quick fertilizer effect and is easy and convenient to apply. However, long-term application of chemical fertilizers can easily cause the soil to become compacted, and fertilizers with too high a concentration can damage the roots of flowers and seedlings. Be sure to water the soil immediately after applying fertilizers.

How to use flower fertilizer

The fertilization of flower fertilizers is divided into base fertilizer and top dressing.

base fertilizer

The fertilizer applied before planting flower seedlings is called basal fertilizer. If you plant flowers outdoors, you should first mix base fertilizer into the soil and then cover the soil with soil before planting the seedlings; when planting potted flowers indoors, you can put base fertilizers such as bean cake and fish bone meal at the bottom of the pot.

top dressing

Fertilizer applied during the growing season of seedlings is called top dressing. When planting flowers in the open field, you can apply dry fertilizer around the seedlings and then water them, or you can directly water them with manure water; for potted flowers, sprinkle dry fertilizer on the surface of the potting soil, then loosen the soil and water them.
