Add some materials when watering the flowers. If there are insects, kill them; if there are no insects, prevent them!

1 Wind oil water

When summer comes, Fengyoujing is a must-have item in Huahua's home, because Huahua's mother likes to use it to repel mosquitoes. The smell of Fengyoujing is quite pungent. Add some water to it and water the flowers to drive away the insects!

Directions:

1. Prepare a few drops of medicated oil and drop them into water at a concentration of about 1:500, then add 3-5 drops of detergent. Fengyoujing is insoluble in water, so adding some detergent to the water can make the Fengyoujing dissolve better in water.

2. If you are not sure about the concentration, just drop 3-5 drops in a basin of water, then add a little detergent and stir evenly.

3. Pour the medicated oil into a spray bottle and spray it on the plants. It has a good effect on red spider mites, aphids, etc. But be careful not to use it on water lilies and hydroponic plants, as it may easily cause water pollution.

2. Floral water

Since Fengyoujing can be used to repel insects, then toilet water can be used as well. Anyway, Huahua often uses floral water to repel mosquitoes in summer. After all, it smells nice and is much better than essential oil!

1. Add a few drops of floral water into a basin of water with a concentration of about 1:50. Stir well to make a floral water solution.

2. Put the diluted floral water solution into a spray bottle and spray it on the leaves and stems. Spraying once every 3-5 days for several times can prevent red spider mites, aphids, etc. Be sure to dilute it, otherwise it will easily burn the plants.

3. The ingredients of floral water contain some ingredients that clear heat and detoxify, so spraying floral water on plants can not only drive away red spider mites, aphids, etc., but also prevent plant black rot due to the bactericidal and disinfecting effects it contains.

3 Mosquito-repellent incense ash

There are more and more mosquitoes in the summer, and many people light mosquito coils at home, but the ashes from the burnt mosquito coils are basically thrown away. In fact, in Huahua’s eyes, mosquito coil ash is just like mosquito coils, and can be used to grow flowers and repel insects!

Directions:

1. After watering in summer, you can spread a thin layer of mosquito coil ash on the surface of the potting soil to prevent pests such as small black flies from drilling into the soil to lay eggs.

2. Collect the mosquito coil ash and mix it with the soil in the pot when you change the pot. It has a bactericidal and disinfecting effect, can prevent the formation of insect eggs in the soil, and can kill the eggs laid by pests in the soil. Moreover, mosquito coil ash can kill bacteria and reduce inflammation, heal wounds, and promote rooting. It works really well when added to the soil!

3. You can also smear the mosquito coil ash on the leaves infested with insects, let the mosquito coil ash stay on the leaves for a day, and then wash it off with clean water the next day. This can cure pests such as aphids, red spiders, and small black flies.

4Electric mosquito perfume

To be honest, since Huahua started using electric mosquito coils, she rarely uses mosquito coils anymore. It’s just that there is too much electric mosquito repellent liquid, and basically a bottle cannot be used up in one summer, so the rest will basically be wasted. One day, Huahua suddenly had an idea. Why not use electric mosquito perfume to try and see if it can repel insects from flowers!

Directions:

1. The simplest method is to place the flowers that attract insects in your home in a relatively closed space, then plug the electric mosquito coil into the socket, and try to keep the flowers close to the electric mosquito coil. This will last for about one night, and you will be able to see that many of the insects on the flowers have died the next day.

2. If the electric mosquito coils at home have expired, then mix the electric mosquito coil liquid with water in a ratio of 1:100, and then add some detergent as an emulsifier. Because mosquito-repellent liquid contains pyrethroids, which are insoluble in water like wind oil, you need to add detergent to allow the mosquito-repellent liquid to blend with water.

3. Put the prepared electric mosquito repellent solution in a spray bottle and spray it on the plants with insect pests. Spray it about once every 2-4 days. After a few times, the pests can be completely eradicated.

5 Tobacco Water

If there is a flower lover who smokes at home, there is actually no need to go through so much trouble. You can directly use tobacco to soak in water to water the flowers and treat diseases and pests. The effect is very good. Many flower lovers have tried it personally!

Directions:

1. Collect the cigarette butts, take out all the tobacco inside, and soak them in water for at least 24 hours.

2. When the solution turns dark brown, it is basically soaked. Take the soaked tobacco out of the water.

3. Put tobacco water in a spray bottle and spray it on the infested plants to effectively eliminate aphids. Alternatively, you can mix tobacco water and clean water in a ratio of 1:50, and use it to water the roots of insect-infested flowers. This can kill small black flies and some insect eggs in the soil.

6. Ginger water

Huahua has heard a proverb that goes, "Eat radishes in winter and ginger in summer." Nowadays, almost every household has ginger on hand. It can not only stimulate the appetite and strengthen the spleen, and prevent heatstroke, but it can also be used to kill insects. It's really killing two birds with one stone!

Directions:

1. Take a piece of fresh ginger, mash it completely and soak it in clean water. The concentration should be about 1:20, and the soaking time should be more than 24 hours.

2. Take out the soaked ginger from the water, pour the ginger water directly into a spray bottle, and spray it on the plants with insect pests. Spray it about once every 2-3 days. It is recommended to continue spraying for more than 5 times.

3. Spraying the plants with ginger water can not only prevent and control pests such as red spider mites and aphids, but also kill bacteria and disinfect, and treat leaf spot diseases and rot diseases.

7. Onion Water

If you ask Huahua, who has been cooking for so many years, what dish she hates the most, it must be onions. Every time Huahua cuts onions, tears flow and she can't stop them!

Directions:

1. Chop the onion into small pieces, the finer the better, and then soak it in clean water for more than 24 hours to allow the onion and water to fully contact.

2. Use a strainer to filter the chopped onion from the water, and what remains is the onion water filled with onion juice. Spray the plants with onion water about 2-4 times, each time lasting about 5 days, and the pests can basically be eliminated.

3. Onions have a particularly strong and pungent taste, which is unbearable for insects. Therefore, after spraying onion water on the plants, red spiders, aphids and the like can be driven away.

8. Detergent water

I believe that even if Huahua doesn’t say it, many flower lovers know that laundry detergent water can kill insects, and laundry detergent is available in every household. It is so convenient to use it to kill insects!

Directions:

1. Washing powder can kill insects because it contains a lot of active substances. When these substances come into contact with insects, they can decompose the insects' protective membrane, causing the insects to completely lose their resistance. Then they block the insects' pores and suffocate them to death.

2. Mix laundry detergent and clean water in a ratio of 1:1000 to make a solution, and spray it on the leaves and stems of the plants. It can completely kill pests such as aphids, red spiders, and cabbage loopers within 12 hours. After killing the bugs with detergent water, remember to spray them with clean water again the next day.

3. Mix laundry detergent and clean water in a ratio of 1:500 to make a solution, and spray it on the plants once every 3 days. After spraying three times in a row, most of the scale insects can be killed. The effect is very good!

9. Detergent water

Since laundry detergent water can kill insects, dishwashing liquid water, whose ingredients are not much different from laundry detergent, can naturally also be used to repel insects.

Directions:

1. Detergent contains heavy alkali and surfactants. These two substances can coagulate protein and burn insects, killing them. Therefore, detergent water can kill insects.

2. Add a few drops of dishwashing liquid to the water, the concentration should be about 1:1000. After stirring evenly, pour it directly into the spray bottle and spray it on the plants with insect pests. Spray it about once every 3-5 days. If you continue spraying for more than 3 times, you can kill most of the pests.

3. Use detergent water to kill insects, which can mainly kill pests such as aphids, red spiders, and small black flies.

10. Pepper water

Huahua likes to eat chili peppers. Not only does she like to order spicy dishes when she goes out, but she also stores chili peppers at home all year round. It is said that pepper water is very effective in repelling mosquitoes. Are you planning to give it a try, fellow flower lovers?

Directions:

1. Prepare fresh peppers. To ensure better insecticidal effects, different varieties of peppers can be mixed together and placed in a juicer.

2. Add appropriate amount of water and use a juicer for about 1 minute to turn the peppers into pepper soup. Then pour the prepared pepper soup into a filter and filter it. Put the filtered pepper water in a plastic bottle for later use.

3. Mix chili water and clean water in a ratio of 1:11, put it in a spray bottle, and spray it on the plants with insect pests. Chili peppers have strong irritating molecules that can effectively prevent and control pests such as aphids and small black flies.

11 Scallion water

In fact, among kitchen condiments, anything with a strong smell can be used to repel insects, such as green onions.

Directions:

1. After mashing the green onions, mix them with clean water in a ratio of approximately 1:10, soak them for at least 2 days, then filter out the green onions, and what remains is the green onion solution.

2. The green onion solution has no harm to the flowers, so it is fine to spray it 2-3 times a day. After about 5-7 days of spraying, the pests on the plants can be completely eliminated.

3. Using green onion solution to repel insects can effectively prevent and control aphids, powdery mildew, etc.

12 Garlic water

The last thing to appear in the kitchen condiment is garlic.

Directions:

1. Peel the garlic and mash it directly. Then add clean water in a ratio of 1:100 and soak it for about 24 hours.

2. After soaking for 24 hours, filter out the minced garlic, leaving only the garlic solution, then put it in a spray bottle and spray it on the plants with insect pests. Spray 2-3 times a day for at least 3 consecutive days.

3. Garlic has a strong pungent taste, which can prevent pests such as small black flies and aphids; it also has a bactericidal and disinfecting effect, which can prevent plants from being infected with bacteria in hot weather.

13 Insecticide water

If you flower lovers feel that the above tips are too troublesome, then use the simplest and most direct insecticide to kill the insects!

1. The pesticide is too strong. If you spray it directly on the plants, it will easily kill the insects and flowers as well. Therefore, it is best to dilute the pesticide when using it.

2. When watering, spray some pesticide into the water, stir it and then directly water the roots. Alternatively, put the water with pesticide in a spray bottle and spray it on the plants. The effect is also good.
