What to do if the cactus has spots

Remove the black spots and rotten parts of the meatball

After black spots appear on the cactus, the first thing to do is to observe whether the flesh and roots are rotten. If rot occurs, remove the rotten fleshy ball and rotten roots in time, and reinsert the cut cactus into the soil.

Replace the soil in the cactus

The reason for the spots may be that the original soil contains viruses and is not suitable for continuing to grow cacti. Therefore, the soil needs to be re-prepared by mixing fine sand, mud and slightly corrosive soil. You can also add some gravel or leaves to facilitate drainage of the cactus.

Reasonable fertilization

Cactus does not need too rich fertilizer, just keep it at a medium level of fertilizer. Phosphorus and potassium fertilizers can be used to increase soil fertility. But you must control the frequency and amount of fertilization.

Pay attention to watering

When watering, do not drop water on the fleshy ball and thorns on the surface of the cactus, as this will easily cause virus infection. Just water it once every 15 days or so.

Sterilization

There will be wounds on the surface of the cactus after the black spots are dug out. Place it in the sun to dry and sprinkle a layer of charcoal powder on it to help the wounds heal as soon as possible. Then, apply medical Daknin ointment around the cactus spots, and it is best to sprinkle a little potassium permanganate in the soil.
