How to propagate ShibazakuraThere are three ways to propagate Shibazakura: cuttings, division and seed propagation. Cutting propagationThe recommended time for cutting propagation of Shibazakura is from May to July in summer. Choose strong semi-lignified plants and branches of appropriate length as cuttings. Plant the cuttings in vermiculite or river sand. Propagation by divisionThe best time for shibazakura division propagation is spring and autumn. Separate the plants with intertwined roots, and then transplant them. After planting, they need to be watered once to help the roots take hold. About three or four days later, water them again and loosen the soil. Seed propagationBefore sowing, the soil must be disinfected. You can choose to dilute it with potassium permanganate and spray it on the seedbed, and then water it. After there is sufficient water, evenly sow the seeds on the seedbed. Catalytic treatment of seeds is recommended. Then cover with sand and then cover with plastic film. The seeds will germinate after about a week. |
