Four-season maintenance methods of pine red plum

Four-season maintenance methods of pine red plum

Spring maintenance

Pine Red Plum likes a cool, humid and sunny environment. It should be provided with sufficient light in spring and placed in a place where it can absorb scattered light from the sun, trying to avoid direct sunlight.

After the flowering period of pine red plum in spring, careful pruning is required to achieve the purpose of dwarfing the crown and maintaining the beautiful shape of the tree, and to encourage the plant to sprout new flowering branches.

Summer maintenance

Pine Red Plum is afraid of high temperatures and scorching sun in summer, so it needs to be placed in a shade shed, under the shade of a tree or other cool and ventilated places for maintenance.

Increase the frequency of watering in summer, and you can also frequently spray water mist around the plants to increase the relative humidity of the air. However, during the rainy season, pay attention to timely drainage to avoid root rot due to waterlogging in the soil.

Autumn maintenance

Autumn is the growing season of pine red plum, and apply decomposed thin liquid fertilizer once every 1 to 2 months. It can be propagated by cuttings, aerial layering, sowing and other methods.

The suitable temperature for seed germination and branch rooting is about 20℃, so it is suitable for reproduction in cool mountainous areas. The survival rate is lower in hot and humid areas.

Winter maintenance

Control the moisture in winter and keep the soil slightly moist and slightly dry to prevent frost on the pine red plum. Stop watering if the temperature is too low.

The suitable temperature for the growth of pine red plum is 18℃-25℃, and the temperature must be kept above -1℃ in winter. Therefore, it can only be grown in potted plants for viewing in the north, but can be used for garden greening in the southern region with a mild climate.

In the north, pine red plum can be grown in a greenhouse in winter, while in other areas, it can be kept warm with orange grass or planted on the south side of the building for microclimate protection.
