Leaf blight

The main symptom of leaf blight in Shibazakura is the yellowing of the lower leaves of the plant. And it shows an upward trend, gradually turning yellow and withering, slowly causing the entire plant to wither and die. Leaf blight often occurs in old plants. This is because leaf blight is caused by non-biological factors. It is caused by new branches sprouting from old stems in spring, but the new branches do not get enough water, causing the leaves below to wither and die. After the leaves below die, the new branches above have no source of water absorption, so eventually the entire plant withers and dies.

The prevention and control method is very simple, which is to provide sufficient water in the spring to maintain the humidity of the soil and air. Although it cannot completely restore the disease, it can achieve a mitigating effect.
