How to keep roses for a long time?

How to keep roses for a long time?

Roses are loved for their beauty and fragrance, but they tend to wither easily. In order to extend the shelf life of roses, many flower lovers will ask how to grow roses so that they can be preserved for a long time?

1. Vitamin C or sugar

Crush the vitamin C tablets and add them to the water, or add a small amount of white sugar to the water, then cut the rose branches short and put them in, which will help extend the shelf life.

2. Appropriate amount of salt

Adding an appropriate amount of salt to water can inhibit bacterial growth and extend the shelf life. But be careful not to overdo it, as it may affect the water quality.

3. Beer

The ethanol content in beer helps prevent the cuts from rotting, while the sugar in the beer provides nutrients to the roses, extending their shelf life.

4. Flower preservative

The flower preservatives available on the market can effectively extend the shelf life of flowers. When using, add them to water according to the instructions.

5. Tea

Use tea instead of water. The ingredients in the tea help extend the shelf life while adding a floral scent.

6. Other maintenance methods

(1) Water injection method

Use a water gun or syringe to inject water directly into the flower stalks, then plug them with cotton to reduce water loss.

(2) Countercurrent method

Turn the flowers upside down and spray water in reverse with a spray bottle to increase the water absorption area.

(3) Cauterization

For flowers that secrete mucus and block water absorption, burn the cut until it turns black to remove the mucus.

(4) Hot water method

Dipping the end of the flower branch in hot water for about 30 seconds will kill some bacteria and help prolong the flowering period.

(5) Chemical treatment

Apply salt, alcohol and other substances to the incision, or add acetic acid, citric acid , etc. to the water to inhibit bacterial growth.

With these methods, you can keep the roses in your home fresh and beautiful for longer. Remember to change the water regularly and keep the vase clean to maintain the best preservation effect.
