How to make carnations bloom quickly

How to make carnations bloom quickly

1. Light and temperature

If you want the plant to bloom quickly, the first thing you need to ensure is sufficient light and suitable temperature. For this plant, the most suitable temperature range is between thirteen and twenty-five degrees. As for light, it is best to ensure six to eight hours a day. This will speed up its flowering process. If it is not properly maintained, not only will it not bloom, but its leaves may wither.

2. Moisture

For this aspect, we have to control the amount and frequency of water supply. You can see that the surface of the potting soil is dry before watering, and water it thoroughly at one time. In other words, we need to pay special attention to the condition of the soil and avoid not watering it for a long time. Of course, don't water too much and cause waterlogging in the soil. Otherwise, the roots of the plant may rot, and there will be no question of rapid flowering. In addition, the humidity of the air should also be controlled and kept at around 75%.

3. Fertilizer

If you want it to bloom quickly, it is definitely not enough to rely solely on the nutrients it absorbs from the soil. Generally speaking, we have to use liquid fertilizer every ten days or so. Doing so will encourage it to bloom. However, this is not an absolute thing. During the hottest parts of summer, it is best to suspend application. Otherwise, the plant is likely to wither.

4. Pruning

Proper pruning can not only promote its rapid flowering, but also increase the number of flowers. Specifically, when the plant grows to about 15 to 20 centimeters, the top can be removed, leaving only six or seven side buds. Then, when the plant is forming buds, leave only one and pick off the other side buds. By doing this, the plant will become more flowery.
