Using pine needles to make compost

Collect pine needles and a small amount of soil under the pine tree, put the pine needles and soil in a large plastic bag, water them to keep them moist, seal the plastic bag and place it in a place with higher temperature to ferment.

Fermentation only takes two to three months in summer, but will take longer in autumn and winter. This is because if the soil taken out from under the pine tree is not completely fermented after removing a layer of pine needles on the surface, it will be detrimental to the growth of flowers. Therefore, it is recommended to cover it with a plastic bag for full fermentation.

Use pine needles to pad flower pots

When you go out, bring a plastic bag and bring back some pine needles. You can put them directly at the bottom of the flowerpot without processing them. They can play a good role in drainage.

You can also cut the pine needles into pieces and spread them on the surface of the flower pot, which can play a good moisturizing role.

Using pine needle soil to grow flowers

Under the pine trees, there is often a layer of pine needle soil formed by weathering of dead branches and leaves, which can be used directly.

Note: When digging pine needle soil, you should remove the unrotted pine needles on the surface and dig out the light yellow or light yellowish brown leaf mold underneath. The soft soil with a special smell of decay is the leaf mold. The leaf mold is a very thin layer, and the soil below is the original soil and cannot be used.

Using this kind of soil to grow flowers can provide more nutrients for the flowers.

Using pine needle soil to make hydroponic nutrient solution

1. First, take your basin, other pots and pans will also work, or a leak-proof handbag. Dig up some pine needle soil.

2. Bring the pine needle soil home, pour the soil into a basin (any container that does not leak will do), put it under the faucet, fill it with water, find a wooden stick to stir it, and let it sit after stirring evenly.

3. After about 30 minutes, the water will be a little turbid, but the nutrition is the best. If it's too turbid, just leave it alone.

4. When the water is clear, you can pour out the supernatant from the basin and use it for hydroponics. This is what we want - nutrient solution.
