How to propagate fire flower

Seed propagation of fire flower

Seed propagation is the main method of propagation of fire flower.

The fire-blooming plant can bloom in many seasons, so we can collect seeds in many seasons, so we usually use the sowing method to propagate the fire-blooming plant. The way we collect the seeds of the fire flower is to pick the ripe fire flower fruits, place them in a windless environment to dry, and then gently knock the seeds of the fire flower off after cracks appear on them. In this way, we have collected the seeds of the fire flower. We can store the seeds of the fire flower over the winter and sow them when the season is right.

We usually sow seeds in the warmer spring. Because the seeds of the fire flower are very small, we usually sow them directly on the soil, then cover them with a thin layer of soil, maintain the temperature at about 25°C, and keep the soil moist at the same time. It takes about a week to germinate and it will take three to five years to bloom.

Cutting propagation of fire flower

The propagation of fire flower generally does not use the cutting propagation method, because the survival rate of fire flower propagated by this method is relatively low. In order to improve the survival rate of cutting propagation, we can use the vegetative propagation method. The high-altitude layering method can effectively improve the survival rate of fire flower cutting propagation. The fire flower propagated by this propagation method is generally used for potted plants.

The fire flower successfully propagated by this method will generally bloom in one or two years.
