Why do people say that large pots are not suitable for growing flowers?

1. Poor breathability

It is not easy to grow flowers in a large flowerpot, because the larger the flowerpot is, the more soil it will contain, which will make the air permeability very poor and the roots will have difficulty breathing normally. If the seedlings grow in such a pot for a long time, the roots may rot and the entire growth state will be affected.

2. Poor pelvic margin characteristics

Generally, as the plant grows, the roots will gradually extend to the sides of the pot. If the soil in the pot is too large, it will be difficult for the roots to grow around the pot. In other words, the pot edge has poor characteristics and it is difficult for the roots to extend to the sides to breathe fresh air, resulting in abnormal plant growth.

3. Accumulate water

If you use a large pot for long-term maintenance, you will inevitably not be able to control the time of watering, so the water will accumulate in the pot, and some of the water will be difficult for the roots to absorb, thus causing a burden on the roots and causing signs of root rot.

4. Inharmonious proportions

If you are caring for small seedlings, using a larger flowerpot will look uncoordinated and affect the aesthetics. If kept indoors, it will take up a larger space.
