How to grow fibrous roots of succulent plants

How to induce roots?

1. Disinfect the succulents whose roots have been completely trimmed or beheaded, and then dry them in the shade.

2. Prepare clean river sand, pour it into the flowerpot and smooth it out.

3. Use your finger to poke a small hole in the river sand and put the bottom of the succulent where the roots grow.

4. Water thoroughly and place it in a place with scattered light. Keep the soil in the pot moist and it will take root in about a week.

How to nourish roots?

1. Medium

The medium for growing succulents should be loose and breathable. You can add perlite, vermiculite, small particles of expanded clay, etc. into the prepared soil to increase the air permeability of the soil.

2. Improve ventilation

Succulents like a dry environment. A humid environment can easily cause black rot in succulents, so they should be placed in a well-ventilated place. This is not only beneficial to the growth of succulents, but also can increase the rate of water evaporation and prevent waterlogging and root rot.

3. Water thoroughly

Be sure to water thoroughly each time you water, and water when the soil is dry and wet when the soil is wet. If you water too often, the upper layer of the potting soil can also provide sufficient moisture for the succulents, and the roots of the succulents will not grow downwards, which is not good for their subsequent growth.

Suitable plants

The root system of succulents is hairy, so all plants with hairy roots can be nourished by this method, such as the common asparagus fern, kalanchoe, chrysanthemum, impatiens, poppy, violet, petaloia, pennywort, cosmos, petunia, etc.
